Preparing for your headshot
Please make sure you read through this in advance, to ensure you get the most from our shoot.
Timings
Prior to the shoot, you should have been given a time slot - this is normally around 2 hours. Please aim to be at the studio by the start time, so we're not having to rush. I'll be in touch to confirm exact times a day or two before shoot day.
For a 2 hour booking, we will hopefully be able to shoot two different set ups, and we'll aim to be shooting for about 1 hour in total (we'll need time before to set bup and discussing ideas, and then some time at the end to pack up).
Wardrobe
Please bring two outfits with you - this will help us get as much as possible from the shoot. The studios I use tend to have a rail, so you can hang clothing up if needed.
I'd describe my style as quite muted, so I'd recommend keeping your outfits fairly neutral.
Posing
I'm keen for us to really capture the authentic you. I can give guidance/direction and feedback as we are shooting, but I'm keen for you to be as naturally yourself as possible.
Think about how you'd like to portray yourself in your headshots, and what poses would complement this. We can get the standard actor headshots, but if there is anything else that you want to try, let's give it ago! It's important that you get what you want out of the shoot.
Inspiration
Try and find some examples of headshots/portraits that you like, or that inspire you. I can also send over some examples before the shoot, too.
Music
I'll have a bluetooth speaker with me that you are welcome to use. I'd recommend pulling together a playlist that you think will work for you, and make you feel comfortable. Think about how your music choice best compliments the character you want to portray - i.e. if you want a moody shot, maybe pull together some depressing tracks.
Deposit
Sometimes I might invoice you in advance, particularly if there are costs associated to the shoot. Please don't be offended :)
